Judges TS Madison, Bobby Ashley, Mike Gauyo, Miss Lawrence and Dyllón Burnside.
Jack’d has announced its first film festival, featuring one of our favorites as a judge TS Madison, along with Bobby Ashley, Mike Gauyo, Miss Lawrence and Dyllón Burnside.
The inaugural Jack’d Film Festival, is a showcase and competition for original films by queer creators, with a focus on queer people of color.
The grand jury award and audience choice award winners will each receive $10,000.
Films must be submitted online by 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday October 21st.
Through digital screenings, filmmaker programming, and community voting, the festival gives queer filmmakers a new way to share their work directly with the queer community of color exclusively on Jack’d.
“Queer filmmakers have always created stories that challenge conventions, expand perspectives, and help people feel seen. The Jack’d Film Festival enables a new crop of filmmakers to bring their stories directly to their audience, and gives audiences an active role in celebrating the filmmakers behind them,” stated Tyrus Townsend, Jack’d Film Festival Manager.
Selected entries will be available only to Jack’d app users from Monday, November 2nd, through December 3rd.
Jack’d members can vote in-app for the Audience Choice Award.
Jack’d is described as the largest dating app for queer people of color in the United States.
It is also described as one of the world’s largest GBTQ+ social networking and dating platforms, serving millions of users across more than 180 countries with more than 15 million people in 2,000 cities.
